Halo by Alexandra Adornetto

Name: Halo
Author: Alexandra Adornetto
Ratin: 5 out of 5
Blurb:
Is Love a great enough power againist evil?
Three angels are sent down to bring good to the world: Gabriel, the warrior; Ivy, the healer; and Bethany, a teenage girl who is the least experienced of the trio. But she is the most human, and when she is romantically drawn to a mortal boy, the angels fear she will not be strong enough to save anyone—especially herself...
My Review:
When I first got this book I wasn't to sure about it as I'd heard mixed things either you loved it or you hated it, a bit like marmite. Personally I loved it! It was an amazing book and wasn't like anyother angel book I've read and I can't wait for the rest of the series as they look equally as good! Hade is out but Heaven isn't yet but I believe it comes out later this month.
I loved how Adornetto had written in and she was so young when she started writting it aswell which makes it even better! Also I quite liked it how in the acknowledgements she said how this is a working project which you don't see very often in books!

Dreamless By Josephine Angelini

Name: Dreamless
Author: Josephine Angelini
Rating: 5 out of 5
Blurb:
Heartbroken and forbidden from being with Lucas, Helen has been tasked with breaking the curse that keeps them apart by killing the Furies. She spends her nights in the Underworld in search of them and, tormented by her worst nightmares made real, she's beginning to suffer from extreme exhaustion on top of heartbreak.
One night, Helen meets another person down in the shadowy Underworld: Orion, descended Adonis and with the power to control desire. Still in love with Lucas but drawn to this seductive stranger, Helen must make her choice that could save her life but break her heart...
My Review:
Dreamless is a beautiful book which has stayed so close to the truth and it didn't disapoint me what so ever and in ways it suprised me because of the way things went, Angelini is an amazingly talented author and the Awakening Series is her first set of books I have got high hopes for her in the future because this series so far has been amazing but one thing that does make me sad is that if there is going to be another book I am going have to wait at least another year for it!

Waiting on Wednesday 25/07/2012

*Waiting On Wednesday is a meme where you basically share an upcoming book that you’re excited to read. It’s hosted over at Breaking the Spine by Jill. *
The Book I am waiting for this week is Fire By Shauna Granger which I will be the 4th book  in her Elemental series asI found out found Shauna herself. I have read the first one and I'm going to read the second and third as soon as possible and so far I am loving the series.
At the moment the is no cover art or blurb for Fire as it is still in the writing stages but it doesn't mean we can't get excited for it because it truly does sound amazing and Grangers next blog tour is in December so I am hopeing to take part it that because sadly I didn't see the sign ups for the last which I am really disappointed about because I would have loved to have taken part as I have never done a blog tour before.

30 day book Challenge: Day 18

Day 18: A book which Disappointed you
There isn't really a book which has disappointed me part from Breaking Dawn, it could have been so much more interesting if something actually happened in it! I could go on a huge rant about this but I not going to so I shall leave it at that!

30 Day book challenge: Day 17

Day 16: Favourite quote from your favourite book
My Favourite quote from my favourite book which is Jurassic Park By Michael Crichton if you didn't already know would have to be this. Because it shows how the characters are trying to get there head around what they are seeing and how it could even end, because even towards the start of the book they knew that something bad was going to happen,

“God created dinosaurs. God destroyed dinosaurs. God created Man. Man destroyed God. Man created dinosaurs.

Dinosaurs eat man...Woman inherits the earth.”

30 Day Book Challenge: Day 16

Day 15: Favourite Female character.
This one is actually really hard... Lucinda Price ... Hermione Granger ... Helen Hamilton. I'm going to have to say the three of them because they are all amazing characters who are so much more than your normal girl they are God like because they are put through some of the hardest things we should ever go through! But thats why we love them!
  • Lucinda Price is from Lauren Kates Fallen series
  • Hermione Granger is from J.K.Rowlings Harry Potter books
  • Helen Hamilton is from Josphine Angelinis the Awakening Series

Game of thrones By George R R Martin

Name: Game of thrones
Author: George R R Martin
Rating: 4 out of 5
Blurb:
Kings and queens, knights and renegades, Liars, Lords and honest men. All will play the Game of Thrones.
Summers span decades. Winter can last a lifetime. And the struggle for the Iron Throne has begun. It will stretch from the south where heat breeds plot, lusts and intrigues; to the vast frozen north, where a 700-foot wall of ice protects the kingdom from the dark forces that lie beyond.
The Game of thrones
You win, or you die.
My Review:
Other all I really liked this book as it is different to most book I have read also it has a brilliant storyline and characters to die for! Plus Martin is an amazing author who has a great talent for writing and I do look forward to reading the rest of these books. The only reason I rated it a 4 is because of the shear size of it and there is another 6 books! But I can't wait to read them.

30 Day Book Challenge: Day 15

Day 15: Favourite male character
Hmm favourite male character would have to be... actually I have two is that alright? One of them is Dr. Alan Grant from Jurassic Park and the other would be Jon Snow from the Game of Thrones. I love both of these characters so much, they are the sort of people who i'd be friends with just because they are like me! Both sort of outsiders from everybody else and both just... amazing! They are also both placed with difficult choices which could end both of there lives.

Also other at Classy me Books, they are hosting a giveaway of Daemons in the Mist by Alicia Kat Dillman and you should go and check it out because it looks amazing also you should enter because you never know.

30 Day book Challenge Day 12 and 13 and 14

Once again because my laptop doesn't like me it has decided not to publish my posts so sadly once again it is a catch up post.
Day 12 – A book you used to love but don’t anymore
For this I will have to say the 'Rainbow Magic' Books by Daisy Meadows. As a child I loved these books had pretty much all of them now when I look back at them I wonder why.
Day 13 – Your favourite writer
My favourite writer... this one is actually really hard I don't really have a favourite writer because they are all amazing! and beautifully talented. But if I had to choose it would have to br the amazingly talented J.K.Rowling.
Day 14 – Favourite book of your favourite writer
My favourite book of J.K.Rowlings would have to be 'Order of the Phoenix' because this book is so different to the others because it shows how life is for the wizarding world and we see all of the characters in a slightly different light.

First of all sorry for no posts from I set them to publish but they didn't work because my computer hates me. So this is sort of a catch up thing.
Day 10: Favourite classic book
I don't tend to read Classic books, is that bad? If Of mice and men counts then that shall be my faveourite.
Day 11: A book you hated
I can not say a book which I hated because I don't like giving out negative feed back where everyone can see it and I don't really hate that many books, that is good as well.

30 Day Book Challenge: Day 8

Day 8: Most overrated book.
The most overrated book I have read would have to be Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer, because everybody told me I should read it and that it was amazing, so I read it and I didn't enjoy that much it wasn't bad but I didn't really like it and when I reviewed it I think I gave it a 3, Twilight lovers please don't hate me. Personally I found the book quite boring and it was so easy what was going to happen. Also I think the series is quite boring because Bella doesn't do much and neither does Edward it only really gets could when Jacob comes into it.

30 Day Book Challenge: Day 7

Day 7: Most Underrated Book
For me the most underrated book i've read is either Ash By Malinda Lo or Earth By Shauna Granger, These books aren't very common in book store, I've only ever seen Ash once and that was the time I brought it and I've never seen Earth in store as I had it in Kindle form and it was a free book.
Personally I think these books should get more credit as I love them both so much and Ash's cover is just so beautiful!

Day 4: Favourite book of your favourite series.
As I said yesterday my favourite book series is the Jurassic park Books by Michael Crichton and my favourite book out of the two has to the the first one, Jurassic Park, purely because I think it has a better story line and isn't so confusing, I loved the film and it is the only film I have had to buy other two times because I watch it so much it gets scratched but I adore the books, there is so much more detail in them and it's just A-MAZ-ING!

Breaking Dawn By Stephenie Meyer

Name: Breaking Dawn
Author: Stephenie Meyer
Rating: 3 out 5
Blurb:
'Don't be afraid' I murmured 'We belong together'
I was abruptly overwhelmed by the truth of my own words. This moment was so perfect, so right, there was no way to doubt it. His arms wrapped around me, holding me againist him ... It felt like ever nerve in my body was live wire.
'Forever,' he argeed.

My review:
Overall I found this book really predictable that might just be me but it was very easy to guess what was going to happen and I have seen part one of the film and the film was much better than the book, please don't hate me Twilight fans I just think it could have been much better and it was quite simply personally I don't think you need 4 books, maybe just one or two would do it because they have gone a bit over the top.
I do not hate this book but I don't really like which is why I gave it three stars.

30 Day book challenage: Day 1

30 day book challenage: Day 1 What is the best book you read last year.
Te best book I probably read last year would be Passion by Lauren Kate (The review is there) I loved this book so much! I couldn't put it down, I read it in two days whilst on my holiday I loved every single second of that book, also I learnt so much and in a way I wish there was another book like that in the Fallen Series by Lauren Kate because I haven't read another book like that one.
It was hard to pick a favourite book from last year and there was some that are worthy of going on here but Passion over all was the best, also I love the whole of the Fallen Series and I can't think of a title more worthy of the best book I read last year.

Some of the titles that could have won it:

Cover Analysis: 7/7/2012

Cover Analysis is a weekly theme when we analysis the cover so some amazing books, all credit of this goes to Cover Analysis.
The cover I am going to Analysis this week this the cover of the book I am currently reading, which is the Game of Thrones.
I love the gold upon the cover it gives it a rich feeling and the dragon hints to me a bit of Mytholgy which I love, although the font is basic it is good because with the good background anything to fancy might look a little over the top also the silver and bronze font hints out more richness. Although it may be quite a basic cover it is a brilliant one which has been well designed to fit it's purpose because there is some covers which are a tiny bit over the top.

Jurassic Park: The lost world By Michael Crichton

Name: The Lost World
Author: Michael Crichton
Rating: 4 out of 5
Blurb:
It is now six years since the secret disaster at Jurassic Park, six years since that extraordinary dream of science came to a crashing end - the dinosaurs destroyed, the park dismantled the island indefinitely closed to the public.
There are rumours that something has survived.
My Review:
I liked this book a lot but not as much as the first one, in a way I found it as a disappointment because they first one was so great and the second not so great, but overall I still think it was a good book but it could have quite easily been better because I found it quite confusing, I also didn't understand most of the second film because parts of one and two are thrown into the film, but still the second book is way better than the film. I did really like this book but it could have been better I think would be the best way to put it.

I loved this book so much! Couldn't put it down, I know it may not be everybodys cup of tea but it was one I really enjoyed and I would recommand it to people as most people have seen the film and the book is so much better, and there is so much good stuff which they do not include which i'm not going to say because I don't want to spoil it for anybody who does plan to read it and if you do plan to read it move it up to the top of your reading pile and you won't be disappointed trust me there.

The product of preimplantation genetic diagnosis, Anna was conceived as a bone marrow match for Kate - a life and a role that she has never questioned… until now.

My Review:
If you have seen the film then I tell you now the book is 100,000 times better. Because in the books you see more of characters as they truly come alive as they all have a battle of their own to defeat and Kates for her. I think that everybody should read this book because it shows you how lucky we are, as people without Cancer. Words cannot display how many tears I cried after this book!

A beautiful sequel to the first book as Daniels and Luce's love becomes more intense, because of the move to shoreline but is there to shoreline than meets the eye? Could there to more to everything than more met Luces eyes? Lauren Kate is one of my Favorite authors and torment has not disappointed me in the slightest way possibel!

Some Angels are Destined to Fall
There’s something achingly familiar about Daniel Grigori.
Mysterious and aloof, he captures Luce Price’s attention from the moment she sees him on her first day at the Sword & Cross boarding school in sultry Savannah, Georgia. He’s the one bright spot in a place where cell phones are forbidden, the other students are all screw-ups, and security cameras watch every move.
Even though Daniel wants nothing to do with Luce–and goes out of his way to make that very clear–she can’t let it go. Drawn to him like a moth to a flame, she has to find out what Daniel is so desperate to keep secret . . . even if it kills her

My Review:
I read this book ages ago but I was looking through my reviews and noticed it wasn't there so... I love this book and could read it over and over again because it is simply brilliant! I couldn't put it down and it one of my favorite books of all time! I picked this book and everything just went right! I think that would be the best way to put it!

Ash By Malinda Lo

Name: Ash
Author: Malinda Lo
Rating 4 out 5
Blurb:
In the wake of her father’s death, Ash is left at the mercy of her cruel stepmother. Consumed with grief, her only joy comes by the light of the dying hearth fire, re-reading the fairy tales her mother once told her. In her dreams, someday the fairies will steal her away, as they are said to do. When she meets the dark and dangerous fairy Sidhean, she believes that her wish may be granted.

My Review:
Ash is a beautiful written book and is a book I truly did enjoy but the only problem I found with it was that the first time I tried to read it I gave up and it wasn't until I went back to it that I really enjoyed it, Strange hey? But once I truly got into this book I could not put it down and it is now one of my favorites and Malinda Lo is a Smashing author who took a story which everybody knows and loves and changed it to a slightly different story with a brilliant ending and not one that you would think was going to come.

Rapture by Lauren Kate

Name: Rapture
Author: Lauren Kate
Rating: 5 out of 5
Blurb:
The sky is dark with wings . . . .

Like sand in an hourglass, time is running out for Luce and Daniel. To stop Lucifer from erasing the past they must find the place where the angels fell to earth. Dark forces are after them, and Daniel doesn’t know if he can do this—live only to lose Luce again and again.

Yet together they will face an epic battle that will end with lifeless bodies . . . and angel dust. Great sacrifices are made. Hearts are destroyed. And suddenly Luce knows what must happen.

For she was meant to be with someone other than Daniel. The curse they’ve borne has always and only been about her—and the love she cast aside. The choice she makes now will be the only one that truly matters.

In the fight for Luce, who will win?

My Review:
After finally getting Rapture I have to say it was a million times better than I thought it was going it be it was, simply breath taking way to finish the series, and I only wish there was going to be more books which speak more about there past and their future. Throughout Rapture you see how much people love Luce and Daniel and are willing to die for them to give there love a chance to truly blossom. As Luce discovers the truth about her past before Lucifer tries to rewrite history.
